Rexburg was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from Cache Valley, Utah.  Among them was Henry Flamm who was prominent in church, community and business.  He established the H. Flamm and Company, a mercantile business, in 1886 to which he added a funeral parlor in 1888.  The motto of that early institution was: “Everything from a needle to a thrashing machine – serving you from the cradle to the grave”.

The business evolved into furniture and undertaking with Henry’s sons Henry Joseph and John Daniel and then to John Daniel’s sons Russel, Edwin and Kenneth.  After the flood of 1976, Edwin’s sons Garth and Bert purchased the mortuary business and continue as Flamm Funeral Home with nephew Bruce Baxter and Garth’s son Hyrum and telephone receptionists Linda and Terrie Flamm.

As Idaho’s oldest funeral firm, we honor our past and appreciate the opportunity to serve the families of Rexburg and the Upper Snake River Valley.  Besides funerals and memorial services we offer funeral pre-planning, and cemetery monuments.
