This one-day short course, taught by Master Beekeeper Ward Hicks, will teach you how to manage your own honey bees for your own benefit. This class will help participants understand the basics of beekeeping. Topics will include equipment you will need, management techniques for honey production and pollination as well as general beekeeping knowledge. Students with little or no experience in beekeeping will gain valuable information on how to be a successful beekeeper. This class is designed to coach beginners who plan to start their own hives next spring. Each participant will receive valuable course materials, hand-outs, catalogs, a new hive tool and a 166-page, full-color edition of “First Lessons in Beekeeping.”
