Day 1 – Depart for Italy

Board your overnight transatlantic flight to Italy and begin your journey to the Amalfi Coast.

Day 2 – Arrive in Rome & Travel to Maiori

After arriving in Rome and clearing customs, meet your professional tour manager and transfer to your hotel in Maiori on the Amalfi Coast. Spend the afternoon at leisure and become acquainted with this charming seaside town during an orientation tour. This evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail, trip briefing, and dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 – Ravello, Amalfi, & Positano

Following breakfast, set out to explore the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Begin in Ravello, a picturesque hilltop town known for its fragrant gardens, winding streets, and breathtaking Mediterranean views. You may also choose to visit the historic Villa Rufolo.

Continue to Amalfi to see the impressive Cathedral of Saint Andrew before spending the afternoon in Positano, where colorful homes cascade down the mountainside toward the sea. Return to Maiori for a free evening.

Day 4 – Optional Naples Excursion

Enjoy the day at leisure or join an optional guided tour of Naples. Explore the city’s historic center, elegant churches, castles, and lively public squares, including Piazza del Gesù, Santa Chiara, San Domenico Square, and the Duomo.

After the guided tour, enjoy lunch on your own and experience some of the pizza, pasta, and other dishes for which Naples is famous. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5 – Maiori or Optional Capri Excursion

Spend the day relaxing and exploring Maiori, or join an optional excursion to the beautiful island of Capri. Travel by jetfoil from Amalfi while enjoying views of the coastline before arriving on the island.

Visit Anacapri, where you may take the chairlift to Monte Solaro for spectacular views of the Bays of Naples and Salerno. Continue to Capri’s famous Piazzetta, explore the shops and cafés of Via Camerelle, and admire the Faraglioni rock formations from the Gardens of Augustus. Return to Maiori later that afternoon.

Day 6 – Paestum and Salerno

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day tour of Paestum and Salerno. Explore the remarkably preserved Greek temples of Paestum and visit the Archaeological Museum.

On the way to Salerno, stop at an organic farm to taste locally made buffalo mozzarella. Spend the afternoon wandering through Salerno’s historic streets or strolling along its beautiful tree-lined seafront promenade.

Day 7 – A Leisure Day in Maiori

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Maiori. Relax along the Amalfi Coast, visit local shops and cafés, explore historic churches, or take a walk along the town’s waterfront and long stretch of beach.

This evening, gather at the hotel for a farewell dinner featuring live music.

Day 8 – Pompeii and Rome

Following breakfast, depart for Pompeii, the ancient Roman city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Tour the remarkably preserved excavations with a local guide and experience a fascinating glimpse into everyday life in ancient Rome.

Later that afternoon, transfer to Rome and enjoy free time to begin exploring the Eternal City with assistance from your tour manager. Stay overnight in Rome.

Day 9 – Return to the United States

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home, taking with you unforgettable memories of Italy.

Optional Two-Night Rome Extension

Extend your trip with two additional nights in Rome for $799 per person. The extension includes deluxe motor coach transportation, two breakfasts, a guided Rome city tour, and a professional tour director.

Extension Day 9 – Ancient Rome

After breakfast, enjoy a guided half-day tour of Ancient Rome by motor coach and on foot. See landmarks including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon. Colosseum admission is not included.

Spend the evening exploring Rome as the city comes to life.

Extension Day 10 – Explore Rome

Enjoy a full day to explore Rome at your own pace. Consider a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour or an optional guided visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.

You may also choose to visit some of Rome’s most famous gathering places, including Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona.

Extension Day 11 – Return Home

After breakfast, board your motor coach for the Rome airport and begin your return journey to the United States.
